This is an original work of art bronze sculpture circa 1974 of Sitting Bull a Chief with the Hunkpapa Lakota by renowned master artist Gary Joseph Schlidt (1938-2021) from Montana. The bronze features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze construction the shows the iconic Native American Chief sitting bull holding a pipe in one hand and a dancing wand in the other while looking off into the distance. Schildt is a member of the Blackfoot Tribe and has participated in the C.M. Russell Auction In Great Falls, Montana numerous years. In addition, he is a founding member of the Northwest Rendezvous of Art group. Schildt is an accomplished artist with notable works in oil, watercolor and bronze. The bronze features the artist signature and the date created on the base of the sculpture. The condition of this bronze sculpture is good with no obvious signs of damage and in good overall condition. The measurements of this bronze are 17" x 7" x 6 1/4".
