Featured in this lot is this 1913 Geological Map of Colorado compiled by Russell D. George, drafted by H.C. Woods and lithographed by August Hoen & Company in 1913. The map shows seventy-three color and pattern combinations highlighting geologic formations across the state. The legend is placed on the right side of the map and shows a break down of formations into sedimentary, metamorphic, extrusive igneous and intrusive igneous types. Counties and several cities are illustrated and labeled and the railway system is drawn in detail. Extra attention was given to the Denver and Rio Grande railroad as it was the most extensive in the state at that time. The map is set on a piece of wood and rolled up to preserve its condition. No major signs of wear or damage is noted. Slight fraying on edges of map due to its age and use over the years. Very good condition for a rare map. It measures 41" L x 58 3/4" W and weighs 1 pound and 8 ounces.
