Featured in this lot are three beautifully crafted German silver and jeweler's bronze belt buckles from various silversmith companies circa mid/late 1900s. German Silver is a trade name for full 18% nickel in a jewelry finish. There is no silver in German Silver. Jeweler's bronze is an alloy of copper and tin, and sometimes other metals like zinc, lead, or nickel, that's used to make jewelry. The first in this lot was made by Irvine & Jachens Incorporated and features German silver and jeweler's bronze. The belt buckle shows a cowboy riding a large bull in a desert setting. Cacti and large bushes can be seen in the background as well as mountains in the distance. The background is done in German silver while the banners, cowboy and bull are done in jeweler's bronze. The back is stamped reading, "Irvine & Jachens Inc. German Silver" and shows a name etched into the back reading, "Jim Reich". The second belt buckle shows a more simple design with a cowboy riding a bucking bronco. The cowboy and horse are in bronze while the background is done in German silver. The back is stamped reading, "Nickel Silver". The third and final belt buckle was made by Montana Silversmiths in Columbus, Montana. It shows a background of German silver with intricate floral designs throughout. There are two bronze banners, one on the top and one on the bottom that read, "Walt Reich Pres. / Teton Valley Saddle Club". In the center is a bronze cowboy riding a bronze bull. The back is stamped reading, "Montana Silversmiths Columbus, Montana German Silver". The belt buckles show good condition overall with no signs of damage or wear. They measure from 2 1/4" L x 3 1/4" W to 3" L x 3 7/8" W. They have a collective weight of 8 ounces.
