This handsome, c.1870-1890, wooden immigrant’s trunk features a flat top lid, iron handles, and a center lock (no key). The top has worn gilt lettering that reads, "G. F. Wright." There is also a gold gilt "W" on the front of the trunk. The outside measurements of the trunk are 27" X 15 1/4" X 12 1/2". The trunk has had four modern "buttons" added to its bottom to protect what it is placed on. This trunk is very solid in its construction and in good condition, showing wear and markings expected from its age and journeys.
