Featured in this lot is a copy of the 1904 work "The Great Chicago Theater Disaster: The Complete Story Told By the Survivors", published by Publishers Union of America. The Iroquois Theatre fire happened on December 30, 1903,[1] in Chicago, Illinois. It was the deadliest theater fire and the deadliest single-building fire in United States history. At least 602 people died as a result of the fire, but not all the deaths were reported, as some of the bodies were removed from the scene. This book features many photgraphs as well as detailed survivor accounts of the horrific event. The book is in good condition for age and measures 9.25" x 6.25".
