For sale in this lot we have a number 8 & 9 Griswold deep sided cast iron skillets. The first skillet is a size 8 Griswold deep sided cast iron skillet with a self basting lid, the skillet is marked "No. 8 - Griswold - Erie PA - 77 B.". The top of the lid is marked "Griswold - No 8 - Self Basting - Skillet Cover" and the bottom is marked "Patented Sept. 22. 1925. - Pat'd. Feb. 10. 1920. - Griswold - Erie PA., U.S.A. - 1048". The second is a number 9 deep sided Griswold cast iron skillet with a self basting lid. The skillet is marked "Cast Iron Skillet - 9 - Griswold - Erie. PA., U.S.A. - 778", the lid is marked "9 - Self Basting - Griswold - Pat. 1,330,209 - 1,554,360 - 1099 A". The skillets are in good condition with no signs of repair, cracks, or wear. The lids are also in good condition with the number 9 having a hairline crack in the lid handle. The #9 skillet measure 16" long by 12" wide by 3" high (6 1/2" with the lid) and a diameter of 11 1/2".
