For your consideration is this large Griswold No. 14 cast iron skillet. Griswold Manufacturing Co., in Erie, PA, made skillets from 1907-1957. Looking at the markings on the bottom of the skillet will yield clues as to approximately when the skillet was made. The bottom of this skillet has the famous "cross in double circle" logo with "Griswold" in bold, large block font. It also has a heat ring and descriptive markings. The large block font and heat ring date this skillet to 1924-1940. It was during this time period that Griswold Manufacturing had become known world wide for its excellent quality cast iron cookware. The descriptive markings on the bottom of this pan read "Cast Iron Skillet 14" above the Griswold logo; below it, "15 1/4 Inch/ A". A fainter "A" is struck just above. The Skillet also features the older style handle. This skillet in in very good condition. Once cleaned and seasoned, it could provide many more years of service. Including the handle, the pan measures 21 3/8" long and is 2 1/2" tall.
