Showcased in this lot we have a pair of Griswold number 9 and number 7 cast iron waffle makers with matching cast iron bases originating from the 1920's. This set consists of a Griswold number 7 cast iron waffle maker showing the Griswold block logo, and a Number 9 Griswold waffle maker, featuring the Griswold slant logo - both sport a tall cook base. The Griswold #9 is marked "American - No 9 - Griswold - The Griswold MFG CO. - Erie, PA. U.S.A. - PAT'D Dec. 1. 1908. - 317" and the Griswold # 7 is marked "American - No 7 - PAT. No 146 - Griswold - The Griswold MFG CO. - Erie PA. U.S.A. - PAT'D July 11. 1922". The #9 base is marked with " The Griswold MFG CO. Erie PA. U.S.A. - 319 - 99." and the #7 base is marked with " The Griswold MFG CO. Erie PA. U.S.A. - No 77. - PATT. 143". Number 9 is in very good condition with only some wear from time as well as some rust in the cook pan and in the Griswold logo. The number 7 is in good condition showing no signs of cracks or repairs, but it does have a little more wear on it and has some rust in evidence. This Griswold No. 9 measures 8 1/2" diameter by 17" long, with a base 11 1/2" in diameter and 4 1/2" tall. While the No. 7 measures 6 3/4" diameter by 15" long, with a base 9 1/2" in diameter and 3 1/2" tall.
