The lot features an original work of art solid bronze sculpture showing a life size large Grizzly Bear cub standing on its hind legs. The piece shows a large monumental life size construction with solid bronze hand worked craftsmanship. This bronze would have cost several thousands to create and is truly a wonderful work of art. The artist is unknown but is thought to be from Montana. The piece does not appear to be signed, or a signature cannot be found. The statue shows the Grizzly Bear reared up on its hind legs with the front paws held in front exposing the massing and exceptional long bear claws. The bear is in good condition showing no signs of damage or repair. It measures 44" tall by 22" deep by 18" wide. The piece is from Northwestern Montana from a large Antique and Western Art collection. Overall the piece shows an astounding craftsmanship with curly heavy fur worked cape having an open mount but friendly head and proportionate design. Large Bronze sculptures of this size are very hard to come by with many selling for large sums above $10,000.
