Included in this lot is this pre-World War II "Hammond's Modern Illustrated Atlas of the World, 1937-1938". This atlas depicts world boundaries just prior to the start of the Second World War. The first section contains color maps of the world with a Gazetteer of the World, and the second section contains state maps of the United States with a Gazetteer of the United States. Of course, Alaska and Hawaii were not states when this atlas was published, however they are included with the states, as are Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the Canal Zone.
This atlas is in good condition, pages are intact with very slight foxing noted. The blue cloth bound gold gilt embossed hardcover is in good condition, some slight scuffing noted at corners and edges, no other obvious damage noted. Measures 10.25"W x 13.5"L x 1"D
