For your consideration is this bit of Hamm's Beer breweriana advertising. In 1865 German Immigrant Theodore Hamm purchased Excelsior Brewery in St. Paul, MN and gave it his last name. In the 1950's Hamm's created the Hamm's Bear and with it, one of the most successful advertising campaigns ever. The Hamm's Beer Bear appeared in television spots and was featured on a vast array of signs, glassware, and promotional merchandise. This 1960's wristwatch shaped clock would have hung on a tavern wall. It has a leatherette wrist band and a watch face featuring the Hamm's Bear in the center with his arms as the clock hands. The clock says "Hamm's Beer", having the second "e" in Beer crossed out and replaced with an "a". Arabic numbers are around the dial. This clock is in excellent overall condition. It runs and keeps time and is only missing the tang in the buckle of the oversized watch band.
