In this lot are two very rare Hand Made Chinese boxes. The first box is wood stained red (the Chinese color for Luck, Joy, and Happiness) with hand cut lead art on top and sides. The top shows two dragons whose tails continue onto the fount and back sides of the box, The right and left sides have a scene of a tree and temple. The box is quite sturdy made with wood 5/8" thick, the two hinges for the lid are set so the lid opens all the way. Inside the lid is written Steve Terebus 1936. The second box is smaller and made of thin wood it is covered with sheet Bronze. The bronze on this box is highly engraved with etching on all sides except the bottom which bears the mark CHINA. The top of the box shows two dragons and the Chinese character for Good Fortune. The front of the box has the Chinese character for Long Life and two dragons which extend along the two sides and end on the back side of the box. The first box measures 12" X 7 1/2" X 12 1/2" The second box measures 8" X 4" X 2 1/2". Both of these boxes are in excellent condition.
