Featured in this lot is this Hank Chopwood (1941 - 2005) stone buffalo sculpture. The sculpture shows amazing attention to detail with texturing of the hide to the grain of the horns and shows the buffalo with his head cocked to the right and swinging his tail. The artist’s signature can be seen on the front of the sandstone. Native American art is part of the heritage of Phillips County. Hank Chopwood chose to create sandstone sculptures and traded them for goods with local ranchers. The condition of this sandstone sculpture is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this sculpture are 7" x 7 3/4" x 3".
