For your consideration are two wind-up tin toys made by Japanese manufacturers in the early 1950s. The first wind-up tin toy shows a cowboy riding a horse and was made by Harina Gangu in the early 1950s. When wound, the horse rocks back and forth while the cowboy moves in a rocking motion. The Horse is missing its ears and the cowboy sits loosely on the horse, but works when wound. The horse shows the Harina Gangu symbol on the side of its belly featuring the letters "SH". The second toy was made by Toplay (T.P.S.) / Tokyo Plaything Shokai and shows a clown on skates. When wound, the clown skates around on one foot and moves his arms. The toy works when wound but his arms are slow to move, or show no movement at all. His back is marked with the company's logo showing a hand holding three fingers up and reads, "T.P.S. Japan". Both toys show fair to good condition with wear present from their age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage noted. The horse toy measures 6 3/4" L x 2" W x 5 7/8" H, while the skating clown measures 4" L x 2 3/4" W x 6 1/4" H. They have a collective weight of 8 ounces.
