This is an original quarter sawn oak large mercantile cabinet from the Herman Fligelman Store in Helena, Montana from circa 1885-1889. Herman Fligelman founded The New York Dry Goods Fligelman Co. in Helena, Montana in circa 1885 to 1889. The store was considered the pioneer of the Western Mercantile stores in Montana. This large cabinet is in good condition showing three large glass paneled doors for your display needs. The wood is quarter sawn oak showing great attention to detail and quality craftsmanship. The display cabinet shows two smaller drawers on either side and one larger centered on the cabinet, making a total of three drawers. The piece shows an excellent early handmade pre-industrial style with fluted column door frames and would have held such western dry goods as spurs, tack, dry good foods, clothing and other settlers needs. The measurements of this cabinet are 56 3/4" x 76 1/2" x 13 3/4".
