For your consideration are two, original military studio CDV photos from various photography studios, circa 1860s - 1870s. The first shows a man in uniform as he looks towards the camera and poses for the photo. He has large tassels on his shoulders and has an X shape on his chest with a plaque reading, "1" and a belt buckle reading, "A". It is marked on the bottom reading, "Henry & Laines, Cincinnati, O." and marked on the back reading, "Henry & Laines / Photographer / No. 102 W. Fifth Street, bet, Vine and Race / Cincinnati.". The second CDV was taken by Joseph Collier (1836-1910) in the 1860s to1880s. The CDV shows a man well in age with a front profile and is marked on the back reading, "J. Collier Photographer - Central City, Col.". Joseph Collier took up photography in 1860 Colorado and became one of the states preeminent pioneer photographers. The two CDV photos show good condition overall with wear present from their age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. The photos measure 4" L x 2 1/2" W and weigh under 6 ounces.
