Included in this lot is a Henry Sargeant pocket watch, circa 19th century. This pocket watch has a beautiful red watch paper, featuring line-engraving, and two seated women on either side of the shield with the watchmaker’s name and address. The left woman is holding a cornucopia and right woman is holding scales and a sword. The shield is topped by a beehive and tree branches. The paper has a scalloped border and shows a crystal domed case with steel construction. The watch face appears to be made of ceramic, but is untested. The watch shows a chip to the face towards the clasp and a copper backing under the face. The case shows a nice dark gray patina. The pocket watch measures 3 ¼” x 2 ½”.
