For your consideration is this early, 1882, edition of Willard Glazier's (1841-1905), "Heroes of Three Wars". The three wars in view were the Revolutionary War (1776), Mexican-American War (1846), and the Civil War (1861). Each of the 40 chapters gives a biographical sketch of one individual who had distinguished himself in one of the three wars. Some of the names include, George Washington, Lafayette, Ethan Allen, John Paul Jones, Ulysses S. Grant, Sam Houston, and George Armstrong Custer, to name a few. The book is illustrated throughout. It is 450 pages; good condition in the original gilt and black blocked pictorial cloth over beveled and stamped boards; gift inscription on flyleaf. Measures 5 1/2" x 7 1/4".
