Included in this lot is a collection of Herter’s .222 Magnum 50 grain soft pointed bullets. The .222 Remington Magnum was a short-lived commercially produced cartridge derived from the .222 Remington. Originally developed for a US military prototype Armalite AR-15 rifle in 1958, the cartridge was not adopted by the military, but was introduced commercially in sporting rifles. This collection of .222 Magnum is comprised of 21 boxes of Herter’s International Match Grade 50 grain and soft pointed bullets. The boxes read 20 Virgin Brass Cartridges and measure approximately 4 ¾” x 2 ½” x 1 1/8”.
