Featured in this lot is this high back colt breaking saddle bronze sculpture by Owen D Mort Jr. The sculpture features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze construction that shows a colt breaking saddle with swells that house the riders legs with a high back and is mounted on a wooden saddle stand. The condition of this bronze sculpture is well preserved with some patina to the bronze and a re welded area on the inside of one of the fenders but otherwise shows good overall condition. The measurements of this mounted bronze sculpture is 7" x 4 1/8" x 3 1/8". The collective weight of this bronze sculpture is 1lb 8oz. Provenance: the Owen D. Mort, Jr. Collection. Owen David Mort was an American engineer who amassed an impressive collection throughout his worldwide travels. His collection has included art, artifacts and other historical items from which he has donated to museums at the University of Utah and Snite Museum of Art, the University of Notre Dame, including of Afghani artifacts.
