Featured in this lot is this Hopi, Acoma Pueblo, Stella Huma pottery jar. The pottery vessel shows iconic Hopi pottery design and decoration with red ware clay construction. Stella Huma was one of the finest potters on the Hopi Reservation, especially in forming the vessel shape when making her pottery. She was a master at crafting thin-walled vessels (much as the Acoma Pueblo potters) and achieving an exquisite burnish to the finished product. Her designs, as in this piece, were painted with the utmost care and precision. The condition of this pottery vessel is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this pottery vessel are 4 1/4" x 5" x 5". (30054)
