This is an excellent Olol Animal Kachina Doll from the Hopi Pueblo Native American Indians, dating to circa 1940’s. This example is carved of solid cottonwood with natural paints showing crescent feet and square in-turned hands. The piece has a wonderful hand carved and painted design with plume feathers at the top of the head and red stroud wool wrappings at the tableta (headdress) ears. The piece has an overall well-preserved condition, with rich paint and little to no visible damage. The piece has a twine tie around its neck. Provenance: From a private museum collection in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region of France. Collected from Hotevilla, Arizona. The piece measures 7” H by 4” W including the plume feathers.
