Many ancient civilizations would use caves, pottery, or hides to paint a picture and tell a story. Hides were used for both ceremonial use and practical use. Oftentimes, decorative hides were used to indicate a person's standing in the tribe or to commemorate acts of bravery or courage. This hide shows a wonderful spherical design displaying a turtle, snakes, in a pinwheel pattern. The piece overall appears to be in good condition.
