Included in this lot we have a wonderful set of Hudson Bay Red Green Heart “Cornaline d'Aleppo” exotic trade beads dating to the 17th-19th Century. These 1600-1800’s beads are regularly referred to as “green hearts” due to the semi-translucent green core at the “heart” or center of each bead that is finished with a red opaque outer shell. This exceptional strand shows a fine “graduated” design. The strand consists of wound cotton, a modern 20th Century addition. These authentic early trade beads display very well. The piece comes with an original museum collection tag stating, “Green Heart” and “JIM #141” and "Jim #142." The strand measures approximately 26 1/2" long in circumference.
