Featured in this lot is this "Fur Trading" Gouache on board by American artist Ila Mae Mcafee (born 1897 passed 1995). The painting features two Native men trading goods and furs to a mountain man. Ila Mae Mcafee (1897-1995) is an American painter, muralist, illustrator, and author who was born in or near Gunnison, Colorado. She is known for her miniatures and as an animalier and muralist. She is best remembered for her paintings of horses, Western themes, landscapes, and portraits of Pueblos. The condition of this painting is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this framed artwork are 23 1/2" x 18 1/4" and the visible art measures 9 3/4" x 5 1/4". Provenance: originally from the Elmer P. Turner. Paintings from this artist have sold for as much as $10,000.00 from Rago Arts and Auction Center.
