Featured in this lot is this Imperial German Gendarmerie Royale officer sword circa 1889. The sword features a wonderfully and professionally crafted sword design that is etched with 'Gendarmerie Royale' and on the otherside shows serial number of 'G9-6 GHMRAI'. The basket guard also shows a symbol with 'German' underneath the symbol. The condition of this sword is good with some heavy oxidation adorning the blade and some patina adoring the outside of the sheath but otherwise shows good overall condition. The measurements of this sword is 39" x 4 3/4" x 4 1/4".
