Featured in this lot is this 1910, First Edition of, "Indian Tribes Chiefs and Wars” by B.B. Thatcher, D. M. Mac Lellan Book Company publisher. The book provides detailed biographical sketches of Native American leaders, including "distinguished orators, warriors, and statesmen". It chronicles the customs, daily lives, and major conflicts (battles) between Native American tribes and European settlers during the early years of the United States. It is a valuable compendium to general American history. Benjamin Bussey Thatcher (1809–1840) was an American lawyer and author who wrote extensively about Native American history. The green cloth bound gold gilt hardcover is in preserved condition, fading and scuffing noted to cover edges. Intact pages exhibit age tanning and slight foxing throughout. Measures 4.625"W x 7.25"L, weight is 8oz.
