Featured in this lot is an original painting done by Inez Russell Bolinger (1887-1967) in 1940. American painter Inez Russell Bolinger was born on March 23, 1887, in Indiana. She was best known for her landscape paintings, particularly those depicting locations in the Midwest, such as Indiana and Illinois. Bolinger pursued her artistic endeavors later in life and was a self-taught artist. She had a distinctive style that was characterized by vivid colors, free brush strokes, and compositions that felt alive. Her depictions of the varying seasons, picturesque landscapes, and the straightforward way of life in rural communities perfectly encapsulated the beauty of the Midwest. Bolinger belonged to a number of art organizations and societies, such as the Chicago Society of Artists, Indiana Artists Club, and Hoosier Salon. Bolinger received numerous honors and awards for her contributions to the arts over the course of her career. Her artwork was praised by critics and appeared in numerous exhibitions. She passed away on September 8, 1967. The painting shows a valley scene with a road and a fence set in the center. There are two large trees in the middle of the painting show bright, vivid colors of orange, pink and yellow. The painting shows the artist's signatures in the bottom right hand corner reading, "Inez Russell Bolinger 1940". The painting is unframed. The painting shows good condition overall with no signs of obvious damage present. The painting measures 23 7/8 L x 20" W.*
