Featured in this lot is this Inuit carved steatite seal sculpture pair circa early 1900's. There are two sculptures in this collection. The sculptures feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted steatite construction that show the likeness of seals, which are indigenous to the far northwest. one shows the seal lying on its belly and has an unreadable signature on the bottom, and the other shows what the seal would look like underwater swimming sideways. The condition of this pair of steatite sculpture is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of these sculptures are 2 3/4" x 5 3/8" x 1 5/8" and 4" x 4 1/4" x 2". The collective weight of these sculpture 2lb 12oz.
