For bidding in this lot is an Alaskan Inuit Eskimo walrus ivory tusk, cribbage board, showing exceptional scrimshaw craftsmanship. The tusk was crafted by an Inuit artist, and shows a seal, riding on a piece of ice near the tip of the tusk. The cribbage board itself is bordered by symmetrical, repeating patterns. Overall, the piece shows wonderful condition, and originates from the early to mid 1900s. The scrimshaw ivory tusk is legal to own under US law, as it is a handcrafted Inuit piece. The cribbage board measures 12 1/8" long, and 1 5/8" wide.
