Featured in this lot is this sculpture of a Dog Soldier by Native artist Iron Maker - Feather circa 1992. The sculpture is wonderfully and professionally crafted clay and leather construction and shows a poised in a defensive position with a shield in his right arm and is wearing functional leather garments with traditional Dog Soldier face paint and wool leggings with bells above them and leather moccasins. The sculpture is mounted on a wooden shield and is marked as follows: Feather - Iron Maker - 1992. The condition of this Native sculpture shows a well preserved stature with no obvious signs of damage and shows good coloration to the painted areas of the sculpture and well formed leather with wooly leggings. The measurements of this sculpture is 12" x 7 3/4" x 7 1/4". The collective weight of this sculpture is 1lb 8oz.
