J&P Coats Antique Cherry Wood Spool Cabinet 1890

This is an antique J. & P. Coats cherry wood spool cabinet, originating from the 1890's. Spool cabinets were often given to stores which dealt in their products, and would be re-stocked by traveling salesman. This cabinet reads "J&P COATS' - "BEST SIX-CORD" - WHITE - SPOOL COTTON-FOR HAND & MACHINE SEWING - ASSORTED COLORS - BLACK". Additionally, the back is hand scrolled with golden paint "J. & P. Coats - BEST SIX CORD - Spool Cotton". Lastly, the drawers are finished with brass drop-handles, and gold filigree paint in the bevels. Overall, the spool cabinet shows good condition - The inserts were removed for more practical use, and there is some scattered scuffs from use, and storage. The cabinet measures 20 3/8" tall, 24 1/2" wide, and 17 1/4" deep.
