Featured in this lot is this J.W. Ellis gilt ornate Masonic ceremonial sword. The sword has a wonderfully and professionally crafted stainless steel brass and bone construction that features a huge amount of Masonic theatrical decoration from the knight helmet and shows scrimshaw to the bone that shows a cross with Masonic symbols to the other side of the handle. The blade is marked 'J.W. Ellis' on the face of the blade and just above the hilt it is marked 'M.C. Lilley & Co. Columbus, Ohio' with a shoulder knight marking underneath that. The overall condition of this Masonic sword is good with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this sword bag are 36 3/4" x 6 1/2" x 1", and the sword measures 37 1/4" x 5 1/4" x 5/8".*
