This is a Jack Connolly tooled leather headstall with a Don Ricardo aluminum bit from Livingston, Montana. Jack Connolly was a well known saddle maker from Montana. In addition to saddles, he made chaps, holsters, headstalls, etc. This piece shows a beautiful tooled and carved floral pattern on the brow band, noseband and cheek straps. The inside of one cheek strap is marked "Jack Connolly / Livingston, Mont.". The aluminum bit has an engraved pattern with heart shaped rosettes on the outside of the cheekpieces. The inside of the bit is marked "Don Ricardo". The Connolly headstall, reins and bit are in good condition. The headstall measures 20.5" and the reins are 84" long.
