Offered in this lot is an Original Jack Frost Pure Wool Blanket from Utah Woolen Mills. The wool blanket has a mostly lilac colouring with alternating trade blanket style stripping of muted colours magenta, lilac, periwinkle and cream flowing horizontally across both the top and bottom. The beginnings of Utah Woolen Mills was in 1902 as the Ensign Knitting Mills in Salt Lake City, Utah. Three years later they were called the Cache Knitting Agency as the company was acting as agents for Cache Knitting Works of Logan, Utah. Soon they were renamed the Utah Woolen Mills, having both the most extensive knitting plant in Utah and by the mid 1930s, handled more wool yarn than other textile mills in the state. In 1928 the blanket factory opened in Murray, Utah and was one of the most modern blanket factories in the West. This blanket is in fair to good overall condition, staining and moth damage noted. Edge stitching loose in places. Blanket measurements are 67"W x 80"L
