For your consideration is this original framed watercolor painting done by renowned Montana artist Jack Hines (1923-2015) circa late 1900s. On May 2, 1923, William J. "Jack" Hines was born in Omaha, Nebraska, a small town in eastern Nebraska not far from the Platte River. He heard tales of westward exploration, Indians, and river men since his earliest memories. These memories have dominated his mind throughout his extensive artistic career and demanded to be captured visually. With his wife Jessica Zemsky, he made their home in Big Timber, Montana, in 1971. The Northwest Rendezvous Group's founding members were Jack Hines and his wife Jessica Zemsky. On June 20, 2015, Jack Hines passed away. The painting depicts a woman posing for a portrait as she looks towards the viewer with a stoic look. She is wearing a dark colored beret and what appears to be an orange/red colored scarf. The piece is signed by Jack Hines in the bottom left hand corner in green paint reading, "Jack Hines". It is double matted with white matting paper, sits behind glass and is set in a light wood frame. The art and frame show good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of major damage is noted. The visible art measures 13 1/2" L x 9 1/2" W, while the entire piece measures 20 1/8" L x 16 1/8" W x 1 1/16" D. It weighs 3 pounds and 6 ounces.
