Featured in this lot is a Japanese engraved Damascus katana and original sheath originating from the mid 1900's. The sword displays a wonderful layered Damascus blade with a fuller across the back of each side. The blade is engraved with the name of the owner along one side. The piece shows a brass guard with embossed cloud design and maker stamp. The handle of the sword shows a brass construction with engraved geometric designs and figures. The spacer and carry points show the embossed image of wild horses. The sheath shows wood construction with a brass exterior. The sheath shows geometric and floral designs. The sword shows good condition overall, with some light wear due to age. The sword measures 39 3/4" long with the blade being 28 3/8" long.
