Featured in this lot we have a Jennings and Company Standard Chiefs 5 cent slot machine originating from the 1940's. O.D. Jennings & Co was founded in 1906 under the name Industry Novelty Co. Inc. and by 1923 the name had been changed to O.D. Jennings & Co. The company originally refurbished Mills slot machines, until developing there own designs around 1936. This machine displays a nickel'd metal front with wooden sides and reinforced metal back. The front is decorated with a bronze Indian profile and shows a clear viewing window for the slots with a with a list of the payout next to the window. The top of the machine shows a refurbished panel reading "Standard Chief 5c". The right side of the piece shows the metal arm and a tag reading "O.D. Jennings & Company Chicago, ILL - Trade Mark Red. U.S. Pat. Off.". The machine shows original internal parts with the front section filled with coins. The piece shows good condition overall with some light wear and some replaces or refurbished parts. The machine measures 17 1/2" wide by 27 1/2" tall and 15 1/2" deep.
