Featured in this lot we have a first edition copy of "John Muir A Pictorial Biography" originating from 1938. Muir was a Scottish-American naturalist who campaigned extensively for the preservation of America's wilderness lands. He co-founded the Sierra Club and is often referred to as the "Father of the National Parks". The book was compiled by the pupils of the John Muir School in Seattle, Washington and was published in 1938 to commemorate the hundredth Anniversary of Muir's birth. The book displays numerous black and white photos from Muir's past as well as pictures of sketches or letters. Each of the photos are accompanied by a quote or information on the image. The piece shows a green cloth cover with gilt gold lettering and a picture of John Muir. The piece shows good condition overall with some light wear due to age. The book measures 11" tall by 8" wide.
