For your consideration is an Oak Wood Presentation Case for the John Wayne Commemorative Colt Single Action Army 4.75" barrel length Revolver. This wood case should also fit any Single Action Army clone with the same barrel length. Brass handles and lock accentuate the box. Box can be locked but the key is not included. Interior of the box is maroon suede, and is soft and attractive. The descriptive plaque is black and scroll engraved, "COLT JOHN WAYNE COMMEMORATIVE", overlayed in a gold gilt and a gold gilt border. The exterior top of the wood case has the John Wayne signature on the bottom right corner. The Colt Single Action Army (also known as the SAA, Model P, Peacemaker, or M1873) is a single-action revolver handgun. The Single Action Army became available in standard barrel lengths of 4.75", 5.5", as well as the Cavalry standard, original 7.5". The shorter barreled revolvers are sometimes called the "Civilian" or "Gunfighter" model (4.75"). The original John Wayne Commemorative Presentation Model Single Action Army revolver was a gift from Colt to the Wayne family. Colt produced seven of these beautiful presentation revolvers for the John Wayne family after he passed away in 1979. Each of his children received one. Also included in this lot are four (4) studio black and white photographs of the "Duke".
The commemorative oak display case is in very nice condition, the bottom has a felt pad attached to prevent slippage, no marring noted. Measures 9.25"W x 16.25"L x x 4.25"D
