Included in this lot is a Joseph Allen & Sons, Non XLL garter dagger, antique blade knife with an antler handle. This piece was made around the 1890's by the famous, Joseph Allen & Sons, in Sheffield, England. Sheffield made knives always played a big part in American history. From the Gold Rushes in California and Yukon to the battles of the Civil War, Sheffield Bowies and daggers were hugely popular in every corner of the United States. The knife displays a spear point double edged blade with antler handle grips. The piece shows good condition for its age. It measures 8 1/4" long, with the blade being 4 3/4" long.
