Featured in this lot is this Kapala Tibetan silver inlay, turtle shell embossed mask. The silver content tested at .500. This is called a Kapala turtle mask and was used for Tantric Buddhist ceremonies in the Himalayas or just for good luck in the home. They can be made of real turtle shells or wood and show a border of tin adornments stamped into small skulls and a double dragon decoration. The condition of this turtle shell mask is fair, with a slight sunder to the right upper corner of the turtle shell. The measurements of this Kapala Tantric Buddhist ceremonial mask are 8 7/8" x 5 7/8" x 4".
