For your consideration is this beaded vase done by Sioux artist, Kathleen Kills Thunder. The vase is highly decorated with geometric designs done with colorful beads in colors of gold, yellow, brown, blue, purple, red, orange and pale green, while the top is decorated in square pieces of Mother of Pearl. The piece was made by Kathleen Kills Thunder (her legal name) who was born in 1947 in Seattle Washington. Her father, Ben Kills Thunder was a Sioux Indian from the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Northeast Montana. Her mother was Spanish / Irish. Kathy grew up shuttling back and forth between Seattle and the Colville Indian Reservation in Northeast Washington. Kathy has been painting and beading since she was six. She uses a bright color-palette and prodigious imagination in creating her painted and beaded work. Kathy currently lives in Southeast Arizona and raises buffalo when she is not pursuing her artistic endeavors. The piece is well done and shows good condition overall with no damage or major wear present. The piece measures 6 1/4" L x 6 1/4" W x 12 1/8" H and weighs 2lb 10oz.*
