For your consideration is this 1946 framed oil on silk painting done by Japanese artist Kawai Gorota titled, "A Elegant Play". The painting is set in the Heian Period during the Fujiwara Clan rule (794-1185). The painting's scene is set in the Spring season and shows a young girl and child peering into the water well, watching their faces being reflected by the water. The painting is done in oils on a silk canvas and sits in a wood frame. The artist signature and dating can be seen in the lower right corner reading, "Gorota 1946". The back of the painting shows a write up by the artist explaining the painting and the subjects. The painting shows good condition overall with only one small spot on the silk canvas missing paint but no other signs of obvious damage are present. The visible art measures 5 1/4" L x 8 1/2" W, while the entire piece measures 11 15/16" L x 14 11/16" W x 1 3/4" D. The painting weighs approximately 1 pound and 12 ounces.
