Featured in his lot we have a hand-knotted Afghan Kazak wool area rug originating from the early to mid 1900's. The rug displays a fine detailed design, bright colors, and a tight weave. The rugs were traditionally woven by various tribes located near the Caucasus Mountains. The piece features a tight weave of aprox 100 knots per square inch and is made from Ghazni wool. Ghazni wool is known for its high quality softness and feel while remaining durable. The rug displays a geometric and floral design with three borders showing floral patterns. The piece shows a blue field in the center with colors of red, orange, tan, and yellow. The rug is in good condition overall with some light wear due to age. The rug measures 96" wide by 136" long.
