Featured in this lot we have a Big Sky Indian Market and Exposition poster by Kevin Red Star. Red Star was born in 1943 on the Crow reservation in south east Montana. He was born into a creative family and found painting and art at an early age. In the late 1960's he was chosen to be in the first group of students accepted into the Institute of American Indian Arts located in Santa Fe. He has since become a well known artist known for his paintings of Native Americans that are sought after by collector and gallery alike. The poster features four Crow Native seated next to each other. The figures are dressed in beaded shirts, moccasins, and gauntleted gloves as well as face paint and headdresses. The bottom section of the piece shows a black background with red lettering reading "Kevin Red Star "D.C. Delegation" 1989 - Big Sky Indian Market And Exposition". The piece is set into a mottled grey frame with a muted tan border around the print. The piece shows good condition overall with some minor wear on the frame. The frame measures 27 1/2" wide by 30 7/8" tall with the print measuring 19" wide by 22 3/4" tall.
