The lot features a Kickapoo Native American Indian beaded tobacco bag from Northeast Kansas. The bag shows an Indian tanned hide construction with typical curved tobacco pouch design having a glass trade seed beaded cross design. The beadwork is done in chalk white, medium green, red, semi-transparent orange, and sky padre light blue. Inside the bag shows some cedar twigs and old tobacco remnants. The bag shows a tie strap draw string with drops of horsehair, wound glass yellow trade beads and brass beads (the strap appears to be a later addition to the piece). Provenance: The bag is from a large American Indian collection in War Parkway, Missouri KCMO and is said to date to circa early 1900, but has not been confirmed. Measures overall 9.75"x8" with the straps being 24"L with the horse hair.
