This is a fully top beaded Strike-A-Lite bag or pouch attributed to the Kiowa Native American Indian peoples of the turn of the century. The piece is constructed of harness saddle leather remnants sewn together with a fringe border or rolled tin jingle cones on Indian tanned hide across the bottom and bottom of the flap. The front of the flap and body of the pouch shows glass trade seed beads in a geometric pattern in colors of medium blue, semi-transparent rose, cobalt, and greasy corn yellow. The front of the flap shows a solid brass trade furniture tack and the top of the bag shows Indian tanned hide fringe belt tie with eight yellow wound glass large trade beads from the 19th Century. The sides of the bag show larger pony glass greasy yellow beads bordering. The overall measurements with the strap are 13.5" L by 5" W.
