Featured in this lot is this 1873 edition of, "Kit Carson, The Pioneer Of The West" by John S. C. Abbott, illustrated by Eleanor Greatorex and published by Dodd, Mead & Company in New York. This book is a semi-fictionalized biography of Kit Carson, a famous frontiersman and explorer in the American West. The book is a late 19th century historical account that describes Carson's life and the unexplored western landscape of the time. The book shows a red cover with black colored illustrations on the front. The spine shows the same graphics and reads, "Kit Carson / John S. C. Abbott". The book shows fair to good condition with wear present to the cover, spine and some interior pages. Foxing and slight staining present on some pages closer to the outside of the page. No major signs of damage is noted. The book measures 7 5/8" L x 5 1/4" W x 1 1/8" D and weighs 1 pound.
