Featured in this lot is this original early stereoview titled "310- Tower Falls " circa 1882 by L.A. Huffman (1854-1951). The stereoview features a wonderfully and professionally crafted construction that shows a waterfall in Yellowstone National Forest during his time documenting that majestic land. The stereoview is marked on the front as follows: Published by L.A. Huffman, Miles City, Montana - Northern Pacific Views, Badlands and Big Horn Scenery. - Fine Indian portraits a Specialty - Rates to the Trade - 310-Tower Falls. Laton Alton Huffman (1854-1931) was one of the most notable Montana photographers who was known for his capturing the Frontier and Native American life. L.A. Huffman arrived in Miles City, Montana Territory in December of 1879. Being only 25 years old he came seeking the recently vacated position of post photographer at nearby Fort Keogh, a military post established after the Custer incident in 1876 providing a military presence in eastern Montana. The condition of this stereoview is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this stereoview is 3 7/8" x 7". The collective weight of this stereoview is U4oz.
